Helper Light Parade Information:
In years past, we have had each of the floats go to the Helper City Park after the parade, and this turned into quite a traffic jam nightmare for anyone that was getting picked up from a float. This year we are doing something a little bit different, hopefully to ease the traffic after the parade.
The parade will still go the same route as before, but instead of going to the park, they will continue northbound on North Main Street, turning southbound onto Bryner Street, and finally turning westbound onto Sunset Avenue, into the Sally Mauro parking lot.
CLARIFICATION! The parade will still end at the intersection of Main Street and Janet Street, however; all floats will continue to Sally Mauro. Any walking floats or bike floats will turn off but the rest will continue on the roadway.
For anyone that is picking up someone from a float, please park in the northern parking lot (access from 2nd Avenue, 3rd Avenue, and 4th Avenue) or park along the street in the above-mentioned avenues. The floats will be utilizing the circular parking lot on the east side of Sally Mauro in order to turn around.
Additionally, parking on South Main Street between the intersections of Birch Street and Janet Street on the evenings of the parade is not permitted. If your vehicle is parked in this area prior to the parade, it will be towed.
I have attached a photograph of the new route for anyone to review. If you have any questions, please reach out to Chief Sean Draper at the Helper City Police Department at 435-472-3719.
