Who We Are

Post 3 History

American Legion Post 3 is one of the Legion’s oldest posts. It was chartered in 1919, the same year the American Legion was organized.

The veterans of Post 3 have served veterans and the Carbon County community since its organization in 1919. It has mentored young people to Boys and Girls State, chartered Scouting America Packs and Troops that benefit dozens of youth, it has donated to many local causes, provides military honors at all military veteran funerals, leads most parades with the colors of the United States, and hosts Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Flag Day ceremonies. It has donated to many local organizations, including schools.

Post 3’s current active membership includes veterans from the Korean, Vietnam, and Cold Wars, as well as Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and the Global War on Terror, and deceased members from World Wars I and II.
